Dream for Darfur Olympic Torch Relay Seattle Leg

Local Darfur activists will on Sunday November 4, 2007 hold the Seattle leg of the symbolic Dream for Darfur Olympic Torch Relay that will be visiting more than 20 cities across the United States. Activists, joined by Seattle City Council President Nick Licata, State Senator Adam Kline and others aim to pressure China, as Sudan's chief diplomatic sponsor, major weapons provider, and largest foreign investor and trade partner, and as host of the 2008 Summer Olympics, to use its unique position to lead the world in bringing an end to the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
